RIDING INSTRUCTION AND CLINICS
Instruction
Shane Ledyard is both a clinician and private freelance instructor. Shane will travel to your facility to teach you or meet you at any number of facilities to prepare you for a competition. Shane is well known for preparing both horse and rider for the hunter, jumper and equitation rings. He also will help pleasure riders with common training and riding issues.
Shane emphasizes discipline of the rider's position as well as patience for the horse. His philosophy is horse-first and does not see horse showing as an end in itself. He considers horsemanship and love of the horse paramount aspects of the sport.
Shane's methods are clear and concise. He has developed a proven system for preparing horses and riding courses that makes competing a horse more fun, less stressful and more rewarding. Having the advantage of a seasoned, experienced horseman and licensed judge really does make a significant difference in the lessons and clinics that he teaches.
You need not be an every-week horse show person to take lessons from Shane. Many of his clientele are working professionals or teenagers with other passions who call Shane for a "tune-up" before a horse show or event. Contact Shane via e-mail or phone 267-446-8392 to set up an appointment.
Clinics
Shane’s clinics are truly a dynamic experience. Shane will help train your horse, give you a clear edge over your competitors, and also give you valuable insight from the judge’s perspective. Participants are encouraged to ask the toughest training questions as well as challenge Shane on classic judging issues. This is a rare opportunity to get inside the head of a seasoned judge and significantly improve your riding at the same time.
Barn owners, managers and club leaders: Be sure to ask Shane about setting up a clinic at your facility. This is a great way to create a positive and fun day as well as earn money for your club or barn. Clinic topics can include 'What a Judge Looks For', Hunters & Equitation, Jumpers, Gymnastics, and Training a Green Horse.
