RIDING INSTRUCTION Shane Ledyard is both a clinician and private freelance instructor. Shane will travel to your facility to teach you or meet you at any number of facilities to prepare you for a competition. Shane is well known for preparing both horse and rider for the hunter, jumper and equitation ring, and is also well capable to prepare an event horse for his cross country and stadium phase. Shane's methods are clear and concise. He is extremely goal oriented and his students always walk away feeling more confident and sharper than they did before their lesson. Shane emphasizes discipline of the rider's habits as well as patience for the horse. His philosophy is horse first and does not see horse showing as an end in itself. Horsemanship and love of the horse come before ribbons and the rewards of the show ring. That being said, one of Shane's favorite places to be is the schooling ring at a horse show tuning up a horse's front end for a class or putting the final touches on a young equitation rider. You need not be an every-week horse show person to take lessons from Shane. Many of his clientele are working professionals or teenagers with other passions who call Shane for a "tune-up" before a horse show or event.
